Venue
The location of the ICANN 2006 conference will be Athens, the capital
of Greece. The first and last day will be devoted to tutorials and
workshops respectively, with the main Conference taking place from 11
to 13 September. Early September is a very nice period for Greece quite
close to summer, with a mild weather.
The conference will take place at Holiday Inn Hotel, at the

The location of the Holiday Inn Hotel at the centre of Athens
makes visiting main Athens sightseeing easy. The Akropolis, the
Lycabetus, main Museums, the Syntagma Square and the Plaka area are in
the neighborhood of the Hotel.
Athens is easily accessible by air from all European capitals
and from major cities all over the world. It is very easy to reach
through the metro or train all Athens subareas, as well as the new
Eleftherios Venizelos international airport. As shown with the recent
successful organization of Olympics 2004, Athens offers a great variety
of interesting and nice sites, while being a safe and peaceful place to
visit.
Nearby the Holiday Inn Hotel there are many less expensive
hotels, where participants may stay and, still, be very close to the
ICANN Conference. The conference organisers will arrange special deals
with local accommodation agencies for ICANN2006 participants.
Accommodation reservation will be available through the conference
site.
ICANN 2006 conference will include a welcome reception at the
conference centre at the end of the first day of the main Conference
and a formal dinner at the end of the second day of it. Apart from the
main Hotel social facilities, Athens offer numerous magnificent and
high-quality locations for social events.
